The Borders Scout Network is for 18 to 25 year olds who wish to continue their personal development through Scouting. Here in the Borders we now have 5 members and we are keen to reach out to any other young adults who would like to join us!Network badge

There are many different activities and awards available to Scout Network members. We have decided to work towards our Queen’s Scout Award. This award is recognised by many employers as an indication of someone’s enthusiasm, dedication and reliability and it will take us a while to complete the tasks for it.

Network tentMembership for the Scout Network in the Borders is around £30 a year, but if you are a Leader with a Section in a Group, it is free! There are many different ways to be a member of the Scout Network. Members don’t have to stick with one group of members and can join in with as much or as little as they like, depending on their other commitments.

Our Scout Network programme reflects our interests and our time commitments with work and studies. Some of us live and study outside the Borders area, but that’s not a problem. When we come together it’s great to meet up again! Our Scout Network members decide, along with the rest of the Network and leader, what we want to do – whether it’s camping, socialising, hiking or enjoying a trip abroad. We can hold our meetings wherever it suits us: in a hall, at someone’s house or even up a mountain!
